A Word

What is word?  What’s in a word?  Word is…?

My thoughts on the matter of word have been evolving as I have been considering what word means, and what it means to me.  The dictionary states all the variances of the meaning of word and how it can be used or understood.  For example, from the title you might have thought that there is something I wanted to tell you.  You would be correct as there is something I want to tell you, but the title denotes to a meaning of, something to be stated; I would like a word with you.

There might be other readers who understood the meaning of the title to be an explanation on a word.  Maybe a few others understood the title to mean certain instruction on a various topic to be given.

How is it possible for various readers to read the same title and come away with so many different meanings?

How is it possible that only four characters, w-o-r-d, put together can have so many different meanings?  So many perspectives and compounded meanings from four characters and combined speech sounds is so beautiful – isn’t it?

How did you identify with the title?  What meaning was set in your mind as you began reading this post?

Welcome to Discovery Digs! [Link to be established]  It is my sincerest hope that you will enjoy the opportunity provided by this blog to expand your thinking and open your mind to new perspectives of viewing the world and enhancing the world you live in.

The power of word, a word, words, is beautiful, intriguing and empowering.  Do you know why you started reading with the meaning you did?  Leave a comment in the comments below to share why your initial meaning of the title was set by your perspective.

Until the next read, I will leave you with this quote from Bruce Lee.

“To live is a constant process of relating, so come on out of that shell of isolation and conclusion, and relate directly to what is being said.  Bear in mind I seek neither your approval nor to influence you.  So, do not make up your mind as to “this is this” or “that is that”.  I will be more than satisfied if you begin to learn to investigate everything yourself from now on.”
